Dear Pangeans,

We are extremely happy to inform you that all men’s and women’s jackets have been shipped from the supplier to our warehouse! We expect the last batch to arrive at our warehouse in 2-3 days.

110 eco-jackets were successfully shipped!

Our warehouse confirmed that 110 eco-jackets for ladies were shipped to you last week on November 24. The first 100 lady backers should have already received their tracking codes.  We are planning to ship 302 more eco-jackets between this Friday and early next week.

What about the rest?

The second batch of 340 eco jackets was sent to us on November 21 and the third batch of 354 on November 25. These 694 are going to be shipped to you between this week and next week. 

The final batch of 180 jackets was sent to our warehouse yesterday.

So, we are aiming that the fulfillment center will finish shipping all the remaining orders, and provide your tracking numbers by next week max.

Dear Pangeans,

Another week has passed and we’re ready to welcome the week with good news for you as we get closer to the finish line!

165 eco-jackets arrived in our warehouse, ready to be sent!

Last week, the factory shipped the first batch of 165 inspected jackets to our warehouse and we received them on Friday. Today, our fulfillment center has generated the tracking codes and they will ship the first batch of 131 orders tomorrow!

Get ready to start receiving the first tracking codes!

What about the rest?

The supplier–Platform88–conducted an internal quality control over the weekend for the second batch of 359 jackets. They promised to ship them today or tomorrow to our warehouse. We hope to send them to you at the end of this week.

They also confirmed that 300 more jackets are ready and they will inspect them tomorrow. That brings the total amount to 824 jackets. 

We are pushing them to finish the remaining 176 asap so that we can send the final batch #3 to our warehouse by the end of the week and finish shipping all the orders to you next week.

Unfortunately, some of the jackets from batch #1 are missing product care labels; so, we will share them below. You can also scan the QR Code on the jacket and the hang tag to find it!

Dear Pangeans,

We can’t even begin to express how grateful we are to have you backed this project and for your immense support and patience. We are excited that 30% of your eco-jackets are finally done!

As we promised in last week’s update, we are going to post weekly until all the jackets are delivered.

Inspection Report

Last week, the supplier conducted an internal inspection and quality control to make sure that the Batch 1 jackets are excellent. Additionally, we conducted an inspection of our own from a third-party inspection service to double-check.

Waterproof test

We have shared the inspection report with the supplier so that they can repair the 9 defective jackets. As we’re writing this update, approximately 100 fully inspected jackets are on their way to our warehouse and will be ready for shipment after they arrive in a couple of days! The first 100 ladies should be receiving the first tracking codes this week.

More Than 30% of All Jackets are Done

The supplier has mentioned that they have finished 200 more jackets today! We are going to conduct another inspection in the coming days and ship the good-quality jackets right away to our warehouse to keep the shipment moving and send the defective jackets to the repair department.

Expected Finish Date

On Monday last week, the supplier promised to finish all jacket production on November 17, as we mentioned. We are in daily close communication with the project manager, the factory, and the third-party inspector to keep production moving smoothly.

To prevent more delays, we are working V-Trust to conduct Production Monitoring at the site and send us a detailed report to us regularly. The factory will have to finish about 150 jackets per day to hit its target. 

Compensation

As promised in the previous update, we would send you a 50% discount voucher for all jacket backers as compensation for the delays and plant 500 more mangrove trees for you and the earth.

We are currently planning to plant more mangroves in a marine protected area northeast of Indonesia’s capital in the coming days and we will share the updates with you soon!

Dear Pangeans,

I am Marcos, Pangea’s CEO. We understand your frustration with the jackets’ delivery and I sincerely apologize for all the delays and inconveniences caused. We are very frustrated with the manufacturer as well.

Good news: the first batch of women’s jackets is finally on the way to our warehouse!

Not so good news: the supplier again missed their deadline, and now promised that they should finalize the remaining ones in 10 days, according to their new timeline.

For full transparency, we want to explain the whole chain of actions with your order since the campaign finished, and the cause of the delays.

• On December 20, after the campaign finished, we ordered the final sample, including the modifications that you voted for, from our original manufacturer–Unicorn Recreation Products with whom we developed the jacket in 2021.
• In March 2022, after the Omicron outbreak and two months of delay with the sample, the supplier sent us the bad news that they had to shut down their operations, as you can see in the following message:
  
• At that moment, we sourced an alternative renowned manufacturer called Platform 88 who promised that they could finish the samples in 3-4 weeks with shipping included, so we placed the final sample order on April 1.
• Due to the Zero-COVID policy from the Chinese government, the new supplier had to pause their operations and delayed the sample production by 4-5 weeks.
• We received their sample on June 29 and placed the Purchase Order for 1,000 jackets on July 6, 2022–as you can see in the document below, and sent them the down payment. Platform 88 initially promised that the production time would be 45-50 days. So, we communicated to you the updated production date for August 21-26, 2022.
• However, nearing the deadline, on August 9, 2022, they informed us that the zippers were delayed,  so they promised the production would finish before the end of September.
• On September 2, they received the zippers and made one more sample, but it had several quality issues.  The reversible pocket was not how we wanted it to be and the pocket labels were not printed on the jacket sample yet, and the sunglasses pocket was not working. Thus, the timeline was pushed to October 15-20.
• We decided to hire a very experienced Chinese Supply Chain Manager called Lucas Tan to go in person and supervise what was going on and get the final correct version of the sample. He found out that Platform 88 was outsourcing the order with another workshop that was not executing the production of our order, and he managed to get the final correct sample on September 21. At that time the workshop promised us a newly updated deadline on October 15 for women’s jackets and on October 22 for men’s jackets, so we shared that with you.Final correct sample
• November came and, unfortunately, they missed the deadline again. But they are finally producing them and they already made the first batch of 50 women’s jackets which are on the way to our warehouse. We will start shipping these ones by the end of the week, after inspecting that they have excellent quality.Workers making the blue jackets
• This morning (November 7), I had a call with the Founder and the Manager of Platform 88, and they promised me that they will keep producing them and deliver the remaining amount in 10 days (November 17). 
• We also sent a Production Monitoring inspection to the workshop today, with a third-party quality control company called V-Trust, to control the production from the site and ensure they comply. Lastly, we are also hiring someone to stay on-site to control the production daily until they finish all the jackets. According to the last promise from Platform 88, they should produce about 100 jackets per day.
  We will send the next batch of jackets they produce to our warehouse this Friday and ship them to you, and hopefully a final batch next week. 

Of course, we will never work with this supplier again, and we already started sourcing another supplier to produce our second batch of jackets.

To compensate all of you for the delays, we are glad to announce that we will give you a 50% discount coupon for our store and we will plant 500 additional mangrove trees for the earth.

We are extremely grateful for your support and great patience with the jackets, and we are very sorry for the delays.

We will keep you updated weekly until we deliver every single jacket, and will do everything we can from our side. We are also open to suggestions if you have any.
